Lakers News: LeBron James Talks about Reaching another Michael Jordan Milestone

7 years into his NBA career, LeBron James continues to reach milestones and set new standards. During Friday’s game against, LeBron scored his 12,193rd field goal, which made him the fourth-highest scorer in the list of all-time scorers of field goals.
In doing so, LeBron James surpassed Michael Jordan in the list topped by Kareem Abdul Jabbar with 15,837 career field goals. He is followed by Karl Malone (13,518) and Wilt Chamberlain (12,681) with LeBron James now at fourth.

Talking about crossing arguably the best Basketball player, LeBron felt “special” and hopes to continue.

“I think my legacy will speak for itself when I’m done, so I don’t really talk about my legacy,” James said after the game against Dallas Mavericks as per a video obtained from Spectrum SportsNet on Twitter. “When you on a journey and you in a marathon, to be able to have feats along that way is pretty special. And anytime I’m linked with the greats — tonight being MJ himself — is special. Like I said post game, hopefully I continue to make the greats proud, live on their legacy and hopefully continue to make my family and my fans proud as well. So that’s what it’s about.”

LeBron James could surpass another great shortly
After being selected with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, James has cemented himself as one of the greatest players in the NBA. He led the Miami Heat to back-to-back NBA Championships in 2013 and 2014 before winning with Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. He joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018 and is helping them to re-establish themselves among the top teams.

After having surpassed Jordan, LeBron James is close to crossing another NBA great in the list of All-time top scorers in the league. He is currently fourth in the list and not far behind former Lakers player Kobe Bryant. 159 more points will take him past Bryant to become the third-highest scorer in the NBA.
