“Rafael Nadal Doesn’t Like to Play Against Novak Djokovic” – Coach

Rafael Nadal Face De Minaur

Serbian star Novak Djokovic has been one of the most successful players in the history of tennis. He has set many records and has won every Grand Slam multiple times except one – the French Open. And his current coach Goran Ivanisevic believes that it will be hard for him to win there again even if he is playing his best tennis. Check out why he believes so.

Novak Djokovic At The French Open
Most people would think that Novak Djokovic does not have a chance at winning the French Open because of Rafael Nadal who has won the title 12 times. But that is not Goran Ivanisevic’s reason for why Novak won’t win there.

“Everyone is talking about Nadal, but I was more afraid of Dominic Thiem who is a more awkward tennis player. Nadal doesn’t like to play against Novak Djokovic”, Goran Ivanisevic in an interview with Al Jazeera Balkans.

The Serb has struggled against Dominic Thiem at the French Open in recent years. Back in 2017, he lost to him in straight sets, and in 2019, he lost to him in 5 sets even though he was playing his best tennis at the time. So, we can understand Ivanisevic’s reason for being worried about the Austrian.

While Thiem has given Novak troubles in the past, that is not going to stop the Serb from trying to win the French Open. And he will want to win it even more right now as he could complete the double career Grand Slam. No one in the Open Era has completed this and that is why he will be focused on completing it.

Also, this record could play a major role in deciding who ends up as the GOAT of tennis. This is a debate that has been going on for a long time and if Novak Djokovic completes the double Career Grand Slam, he could very well put an end to this long-standing debate. Many will be hoping that he will do exactly that.
